Kim Parker's Pilates training is nothing short of miraculous. At fifty-one years old I was lying flat on my back in an ER suffering from lower back muscle spasm. At that point my therapy consisted of only Vicodin and Valium. I knew I had to make a fundamental change.
Kim's technique and skill provided immediate relief from my symptoms. In 2 to 3 weeks I was off all medications. Within 8 visits I experienced a lessening of chronic low-grade pain.
For the fist time in many years, simple daily activities, like driving for over 45 minutes, or sitting for ten minutes in a flat hard chair stopped being painful.
Kim's techniques are meticulous and gentle. She pays attention to all aspects of the form. She brings a deep understanding of our bodies and how they work. I never felt at risk of hurting my self during our workouts. After a year of training and "reforming" I was pain free. I also acquired an internal sense of my body and real strength in muscles I did not know were there.
Thanks to Kim's calm guidance, good-humored encouragement and skill, I am fully recovered and retraining the old muscle patterns. This is my third year of training and I plan to train with her for many years to come.
Thank you Kim Parker

I would like to thank Kim for her care and expertise in teaching me about Pilates. I have come to love the exercises, the stretching, the relaxation, and the toning of my muscles. Pilates has been an excellent addition to my workout and tennis activities. It has strengthened my muscle tone and relieved the problems I have had from nerve compression by arthritis in my lower back. Since I started Pilates, I have had no back events or any pain. I have greater range of motion, more flexibility than I have had in many years, and more stamina in my tennis game. .....I have not experienced any shoulder problems, knee problems, or ankle problems, which have been prevalent lately among many of the tennis players. In any case, I feel great when I see Kim and work with her through the Pilates routines. She is an excellent teacher and has helped me see just how great Pilates is. I hope to do Pilates for a long, long time.

I have been a Pilate’s student of Kim Parker for approximately a year. Kim has been responsible for re-formatting (ie"reforming") my body so that I now look and feel better than ever. Unlike aerobic exercises that I never have found to be very appealing... and never got that enthusiastic over... and never committed to for a long period of time, Pilates is different, it is a thinking person’s type of exercise. Pilates is not a ‘sissy’ exercise. It’s hard work, requires a great deal of focus(e.g. you have to learn how to breathe differently... learn how to use your ‘abs’ to move other parts of your body etc.)... When you finish with a Pilate’s workout, you feel good... you feel energized! You don’t feel "exhausted". That’s a big plus for busy people! During the session however, you might also feel that the exercises are difficult and at times, feel as though ‘you’re body is being tortured.’ Not to worry. You are actually just ‘ teaching your body new ways of responding.’ Once your body learns this, you will be proud of yourself. You cannot continue to do Pilates while simultaneously eating a bunch of junk foods. Something will have to give. Unlike going on a diet however, if you are consistent and do the Pilates sessions at least twice a week, you will find that you will be motivated to begin eating less and eating more healthy foods. You won’t need to go on another worthless diet! In conclusion, I look at Pilates in a similar way that I look at my computer. You need to re-format your hard drive and do upgrades on your software if your computer is going to keep up with the heavy demands made on it. Similarly, your body is like a computer too. You have to reformat how you move... how you breathe etc. As you get better at Pilates, you will start adding new programs to your regime... Try it, you’ll like it. Trust me, I ‘hate’ to work out!

Since I started Pilates, I have seen a noticeable improvement in my flexibility. Plus, I no longer suffer constant back aches, as I had before. I can’t imagine living now without Pilates!

More flexible, less bow legged-I’ve "gained" 1/4" of height so far. And my wife is pleased with my new Pilates butt.

What significant changes have you noticed?
Toning in stomach and butt with no stress on any joints (which has been a big problem). Always feel great and energized after a workout.
